Digicel US$10K not out

They both missed the opportunity to take home US$10,000 being offered by Digicel, but Casilda Primus and Kathy-Anne Joe said that they had the time of their lives during the ‘Digicel Bowl for US$10K Competition”.{{more}}

And although they missed, the duo still took home substantial prizes, each got a Blackberry Storm, valued at EC$2,400.

Last Saturday, during the lunch break on the third day of the five-day test being played between Bangladesh and the West Indies at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex, Primus and Joe were given the opportunity to bowl at one cricket stump. If they had managed to knock it over, each of them would have won US$10,000 compliments Digicel.

Having come very close to hitting the single stump, Cane Garden resident, the dreadlocked Casilda Primus, said that she did not practice and that is one of the main reasons she missed. She added: “It was a good experience and I thank Digicel for the opportunity because although I missed, if it was not for them, I would not have a good phone like the Blackberry; they always give me a good deal with everything”.

Joe, the other participant in the US$10K Bowl Competition comes from Spring Village. She said: “It was not that hard to hit the stump, but maybe if it was more than one it might have been easier”. The mother of one said that sometimes she plays softball cricket. She commented: “I was glad for the opportunity, but I hope I will get a next chance at winning some more money but doing something easier this time.” Joe also thanked Digicel for her Blackberry Storm.

Digicel, proud sponsors of West Indies Cricket, will hold other US$10K Bowl Promotions in Grenada on July 18th, in Dominica on July 26th and St. Kitts on July 31st.
