Glasgow awarded player of the year

Vincentian Amber Glasgow was awarded squash player of the year, at Hull University sports awards ceremony on Friday, 1st May, 2009. At University level, Amber is the top female squash player.{{more}}

Glasgow represented the University of Hull at the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Individual Squash Championships, in Birmingham from 27th February to1st March, where she defeated Lysette Taplin and Angharad Mair Lewis from Swansea University before losing in the semi-finals to Hannah Trewin, from Southampton University.

Glasgow is also a member of the Hull and East Riding Squash Club, and is currently ranked number 35 out of 108 senior male and female players. She is also ranked number 2 in division 5 of the club mini-leagues, which takes place every 6 weeks. She represented the Hull city squash team in Division 1 of the Yorkshire League semi-finals in Sheffield and plays at the number 3 position for the team, ‘Riding K’ in the Hull and District squash league which placed 7th overall.

Glasgow was also acknowledged for her display of excellent sportsmanship.
