Green light for 2009 Easter National Junior Tennis Championships in SVG

Tennis will again be a featured sport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in April, as national players participate in the 2009 Easter National Junior Tennis Championships.{{more}}

Tournament dates are April 6th to the 11th. With all categories of play scheduled, Boys and Girls Under-10 to Under-18, national players are poised to earn valuable ranking points. This year’s National Easter Tournament follows the ITF 2009 Barbados Junior International Tennis Tournament which concludes on 4th April.

St.Vincent and the Grenadines has ten junior players participating in the international event which includes Rhiana Bruce-Lyle, Daneya Charles, Myles Dalrymple, J’Rai DaSilva-Joyette, Julio Francis, Fabrice George, Kevin Huggins, Shane Huggins, Johnathan Perry and Zachary Williams. The National Easter Tournament builds on the SVG Tennis Association’s plans to provide a full calendar of National and International tournaments and events to promote the national growth of Tennis.

After the successful Digicel ITF International Junior Tennis Tournament in October and the FCIB/C.K. Greaves National Junior Tennis Tournament in December, Junior Tennis players continue to be exposed to competition on different levels. The tournament will be played at the National Tennis Centre in Villa, starting at 9AM daily.
