The Windwards last Sunday recorded win No.3, over the lowly placed Leewards.

The writing was on the wall from day one, when the Windwards dismissed the Leewards for 75 at the Beaseujour Stadium in St. Lucia.

The combined bowling efforts of Shane Shillingord, 3 for 15, and fast bowlers Deighton Butler and Darren Sammy, 3 for 22, respectively, were mainly responsible for the Leewards’ total. Shane Jeffers scored 34 not out.

Donwell Hector topscored with 67. Butler made 51, not out , Rawl Lewis hit 39, Sammy, 36, and Andre Fletcher stroked 33. Lionel Baker was the pick of the Leewards’ bowling, with 6 for 84.

The Leewards fared better in their second innings, reaching 283, led by Keiron Powell’s 93. Montcin Hodge followed with 41 and Devon Thomas made 40.

Kevin James bagged 4 for 38 and Sammy, 2 for 35. Requiring 45 to win, the Windwards as usual had to stutter before reaching 47 for 3. Johnson Charles was 31 not out.

The Windwards had previously beaten Guyana, the Combined Campuses and Colleges in three days, and handed the Leewards the same treatment.

Also recording a convincing win was Barbados, who disposed of bottom-placed Guyana by an innings and 59 runs.

Barbados only needed to bat once. And in that innings totaled 495 for 8 declared.

Ryan Hinds scored 134, Jason Haynes, 104, Dwayne Smith, 80, Patrick Browne, 66 and newcomer Nickolai Charles, 54 not out. Guyana scored 288 for 9 in their first innings. Travis Dowlin, 87, Royson Crandon, 69, and Derwin Christian with 47, were Guyana’ s top performers with the bat.
