The keenly contested Tournament, sponsored by United Insurance, is in its third week of competition, with 20 schools participating in four zones.

United Insurance, sponsoring the Tournament for the 26th year, indicated that they were happy to sponsor the event once again and expect the Finals to be exciting.

The comments came from Assistant Office Manager Sharleen Greaves, who presented a check to tournament organizers, The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Sports, at their Villa office on Monday.

The cheque was presented on behalf of United Insurance Centre and United Insurance Agencies.

The cheque, valued at EC $13,000, goes towards the running of the competition and for the Tournament’s first place winner.

The Ministry officials were also presented with United Insurance jerseys, which will be worn by the competition’s finalist.

The cheque was presented to Chairman of the National School Games Committee Luis deShong, and witnessed by Education Officer for Physical Education and Sports Elford Charles and Nelson Hillock, Director of Physical Education and Sports.

The Georgetown Secondary School is the Tournament’s defending champion. (JJ)
