Chatoyers again!
Chatoyers maintained their strangle hold on the annual Round D Town four-leg Road Relay, when they topped the teams in the open category.{{more}}
Chatoyers, with the indomitable combination of Pamenos Ballantyne, his elder brother Lorenzo, Maxroy Forbes and Junior Ashton won in 29 minutes 44.09 seconds, as they led from the first leg. Second in that category was X-Ceed Sports Club, who finished in 30 minutes, 59.11 seconds.
Winning the open womenâs category for another year, was X-ceed sports club in 36 minutes 0.09 seconds.
They were followed by the Campden Park Secondary School in 43 minutes 11 seconds.
The Georgetown Secondary repeated their 2007 performance won the male secondary segment in 30 minutes 27.29 seconds.
The lads from the Georgetown institution were second overall. Next in the male segment was the St. Vincent Grammar School, who clocked 32 minutes. The Campden Park Secondary won both the male and female categories of the Under 15 division.
The male quartet from that school returned a time of 34 minutes 07 seconds. Second was the St. Vincent Grammar School and third the Georgetown Secondary.
In the female Under 15 division, the Campden Park Secondary clocked 38 minutes 50.69 seconds. Second was the St. Clair Dacon Secondary and third was Georgetown Secondary.
Last Sundayâs event saw 20 teams starting, but with 19 completing the race. Seven participated in the Under 15, six in the Under-19 and seven in the open category.
The Round Dâ Town event was the first on the road event on the racing calendar. Team Athletics SVG sponsored the event.
The next race is set for October 12, when the National Properties Cross Country will be staged at the Diamond Estate. (RT)
