Cable & Wireless sponsors Sion Hill Community Football Competition

Cable & Wireless is sponsoring the Sion Hill Community Football Competition because, according to Fitzgerald Huggins, Cable & Wireless Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, “Our Company is Big on the Community.”{{more}}

“Our company is excited with this association with the Sion Hill Football League and we aim to go further in helping to develop this community to its prominence not only in the sporting arena but the entire community as a whole” said Angus Steele, Chief Executive.

“Sion Hill was once known for sporting excellence, with footballers like the Millington brothers and several prominent athletes and cricketers. We need to get back to those days when Sion Hill supporters would wear their black and green uniform proudly and go to the park to support their champions, and we hope that this association with Cable & Wireless would give us that start,” opined Rohan Thomas, organizer of the Sion Hill community league.

Cable & Wireless has expressed an interest in working with the sportsmen and women to get involved in community development work and is willing to assist in this regard.

The bMobile Sion Hill Football League is being played at the refurbished Sion Hill playing field and has 20 teams registered. Matches are played daily and have seen very large crowds supporting their various villages.
