Solid Crushers take Championship

The Canouan Basketball Association Second Annual Basketball Tournament came to a conclusion last Sunday at the Canouan Hard Court, with the All Star events and presentation of awards for the Tournament.{{more}}

Seymour Laborde, of Solid Crushers, went away with the three-point shootout award and the skill challenge game award, while Delplesche Hamilton, of Solid Crushers, took the MVP for the All Star game.

Among the awards was the Best Defensive Player, which was taken by Warrican Garrick, of Dawles Ballers

The Most Disciplined Player was Manuel Manuel, of CCA LTD, who also copped the Fair Play Sportsman Award.

The Most Improved Player was Webster Harry, of Digi-Stars, while the award for Most Points Scored went to Damian Harry, of Dawles Ballers. He registered 166 points.

The Most Assists, 19, were recorded by Lorenzo Jordan, of Solid Crushers.

The trophy for the Most Steals went to Gregory King, of Dawles Ballers, with 17. Laborde had the Most Rebounds, 42.

The award for the Youngest Player went to 15-year-old Michael Compton, of Digi- Stars, with the Oldest Player being Timothy Jacobs, of Solid Crushers. Jacobs is 36 years old.

The Most Valuable Player Award saw Balance Ballers’ Nicolus Compton, taking the title for his team. The MVP for CCA Builders was Melvin Velandres.

For C.K. Greaves Ballers, it was Steve Lancaster, while Dawles Ballers’ Damian Harry snatched the award for his team.

Julius Mitchell was Digi- Stars’ MVP, with Bruno Clouden doing so for Solid Crushers.

Mitchell was the Tournament’s overall MVP.

At the end of the first round it was Digi Stars first with 50 points, Dawles Ballers, second, with 45 points. Solid Crushers was third, with 40 points, with C.K. Greaves Ballers fourth, with 35 points. CCA Builders docked in fifth, with 30 points, and Balance Ballers brought up the rear, with 20 points.

Solid Crushers finished top in the play offs. Digi- Stars was second, and CK Greaves Ballers took the third spot.
