Action heats up in Nar Frien’ Dem Greiggs Softball Cricket Competition

Two games were played last weekend in the Sea Operations Nar Frien’ Dem Greiggs Softball Cricket Competition at the Greiggs Playing Field.{{more}}

On Saturday 30th, Police defeated Y De Lima Hotspurs by 19 runs. The lawmen batted first and made 139 all out off 23, of the allotted 25 overs. Salvan Browne, 51, and Brenton Smith, 32, were the principal scorers.

Noel Samuel, 4 for 19, was Y De Lima HotSpurs most successful bowler. HotSpurs, in reply, were restricted to 120 runs off 19.4 overs. Michael St Claire got 43.

Malcolm Alexander picked up 2 wickets for 4 runs, bowling for Police.

In Sunday’s game, R.L.P Zinga conceded defeat to host of the competition – Nar Frien’ Dem by 90 runs.

Sea Operations Nar Frien Dem made 181 runs off 23.4 overs. Dean Farrell, 41, and Clinton Woods, 33, were the leading scorers. Roger Hamilton bagged 2 for 22. R.L.P Zinga could only reach 91 all out in pursuit of their victory target of 182. These runs were made in 18.4 overs. Isaac Welcome top scored with 25. Kevin Harry, 2 for 4, was Sea Operations Nar Frien’ Dem’s most successful bowler.(PR)
