Ballantyne hit 81 not out in his team’s first innings, then returned to blast 116 in the second, which included 11 fours and 2 sixes.

The Academy posted 158, batting first innings, with Kentish Phillips, 4 for 46, and Kimani Thomas, 3 for 37, bowling for ASCO.

Rajiv Roberts scored 70 out of ASCO’s 117. Ray Charles, 4 for 19, Chris James, 2 for 14, and Timothy Warner, 2 for 32, bowling for the Academy.

Batting a second time, the Academy declared at 264 for 4, with Ballantyne’s sidekick, Devane Warner, feasting with 101, which was dotted with 11 fours and 6 sixes.

Chasing 306 for victory, ASCO was bundled out for 65, with Timothy Warner grabbing 4 for 31, Shakeel Browne, 3 for 18, and James, 2 for 5.

Also taking full points was Radcliffe Two. Sion Hill, playing seven players, was shot out for 52. Jabarri Johnson, 3 for 26, and David Dublin, 2 for 6, were the best bowlers for Radcliffe, who replied 160, batting with two players short.

Kensley Joseph, 48 not out, Jeffrey Prince, 37, were the main contributors. Joseph Medford had 5 for 53, including a hattrick, and his brother Ronald, 2 for 48.

Sion Hill reached 127 in their second innings, as Rashley Richards topscored with 40. Verbert King, 4 for 22, and Johnson, 3 for 28, wrecked Sion Hill’s batting. Radcliffe cruised to 21 for 2, and maximum points.

But PKF Saints had to settle for first innings from Belmont. Saints made 192. Roger Davis, 44, Brensley Bobb, 40, and Amreal Bobb, 36. Adolphus Campbell, 3 for 30, Michael Jack, 2 for 11, and Agustus Mofford, 2 for 69, shared the bowling honours for Belmont.

Curtis King led Belmont’s unsuccessful reply, scoring 42, and Mofford, 29, but they fell for 162 all out.

Newsman St. Hillaire, 4 for 26, Davis, 3 for 23, and Brensley Bobb, 2 for 19, did the restrictive job.

In the other match in the First Division, leaders Log Masters took first innings over Victors Two.

Montgomery Sealey, 51 not out, Aaron Bascombe, 47, led the batting for Log Masters in their total of 183. Javed Harry, 4 for 35, and Jeffrey Abraham, 3 for 57, were the pick of the bowlers for Victors.

Falling 26 runs short, Victors were dismissed for 158. Courtney Lavia, 33, Abraham, 30.

Elvis Browne, 4 for 42, and Jimmy Sam, 3 for 30, were Log Masters best bowlers.

And, in the lone RBTT Premier Division fixture, Police Two crushed Irie Travel Packers by an innings and 47 runs. Police took up the sentry post first, and reached 244. Salvan Browne hit 68, Kenroy Martin, 48, and Mc Leon Williams, 40. Jamal Jeffery was the pick of Packers’ bowling with 6 for 92. Caldrick Ferdinand chipped in with 3 for 16.

Packers’ innings stopped at 90, as Elmore Alexander, 5 for 25, and Mohammed Lavia, 3 for 8, routed them. Asked to follow on, Packers was finished off by Alexander, 4 for 19, Calvin Glasgow, 3 for 18, and Lavia, 2 for 6, as they could only make 67. Kesrick Williams made 30.

The other scheduled match between the News Spartans and Police One was not played as no umpires turned up. (RT)
