Lotto teams win big in tournament

Renrick Cato scored the first century of the 2007 National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Softball Cricket Competition last Sunday at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}

Cato’s 108, powered RSVG Police to 223 for 3 against ASCO I.

Rolando Wright, 33, and Javon Patrick, 32, kept the law officers onslaught.

ASCO I replied with 103 for 8. Wright crowned off a good match with 4 for 17.

Also on Sunday, St. Vincent and the Grenadines fast bowler Norlan Williams showed his ability with the bat, hitting 56, as Vipers made 199 for 9.

Kenny Hunte chipped in with 30. Leslie Alexander bagged 4 for 33 for Strugglers. Adrian Hunte, 2 for 2, and Emmanuel Baptiste, 2 for 6, as Strugglers lived up to their name and were dismissed for 41.

The other weekend fixture pitted Owia Shottaz and Under Dogs. National senior cricketer, Salvan Browne, 24, and Rawle Baptiste, 22, were the principal scorers, as Owia Shottaz reached 150 for 9. Amos Clarke, 2 for 17, and Carlton Baptiste, 2 for 18, led Under Dogs’ bowling.

Rawle Baptiste, 3 for 14, and two scalps apiece for Osbourne and Lesborn Lavia, as Under Dogs were dismissed for 84.

Another five matches are set for this weekend at the same venue.(RT)
