Rogers is Mr International

Rogers is Mr International

Efford Rogers has done it again. He has won, again. At Overland Park, Kansas, in the United States, this leading international bodybuilder from St.Vincent and the Grenadines made his debut in the professional league as he competed in the Pro International Championships staged by the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation on September 8, 2007.{{more}}

Efford Rogers appeared in the lightweight category (under 185 lbs) and outperformed fourteen bodybuilders, all from the USA, to take the title of Mr. International. This is an historic achievement, as Efford Rogers is the first Vincentian to take that title, and was the only Caribbean national to compete. He now carries that distinction, as well as that of being a Pro International Champion.

This elite athlete is the quintessential example of what it means to be a leader, knowing who you are, what you want out of life, being committed and dedicated to the process that must lead to success and what emanates from being results oriented.

Efford Rogers earned the right to compete as a professional this year when in 2006 he competed as an amateur at the International Natural Bodybuilding Naturalmania Championships against 200 bodybuilders from the United States and placed first in his middleweight class. The US judges, impressed with the on stage performance and distinctive class of this vincentian athlete, also then awarded him the title of Overall Champion.

Efford Rogers has been competing since the mid 1990’s, and has continuously and successfully expanded his Vincentian bodybuilding boundaries to Grenada, Dominica, the BVI, Venezuela and the USA. His bodybuilding report card speaks for itself.

In 1997, he became the OECS Welterweight Champ in Grenada; in 1999 Independence Champ in SVG; in 2000 Phillips Champ in SVG; in 2002 National Champ – Mr. SVG; in 2002, 3rd place CAC Championship, Caracas,Venezuela; in 2005 2nd place Natural Invitational Championship, SVG; in 2006, 2nd place INBF Caribbean Grand Prix, Grand Cayman,Cayman Islands; in 2006, Middleweight and Overall Champion INBF Naturalmania Nationals Championship, Professsional Qualifier, New York City, USA.

In 2007: WNBF Professional International Champion (Overland Park, Kansas, USA)

Rogers, a dedicated father and spouse, is a graduate of the SVG Community College, Division of Technical and Vocational Education, and is a member of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, where he is a trainer, holding the rank of corporal.

Efford Rogers is now in training at the Fitness Quest Gym for his next competition, the 2007 WNBF Professional World championships in NewYork on November 10. Look out for him soon on a brand new regional television program, Native Island. Efford Rogers, coming soon to a screen near you.
