Police keep things in order

RSVG Police kept things in line for a shot at the title in the National Lotteries Top Belair Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}

The lawmen took out Punishers by 46 runs. Police batted first and scored 106 off 16.3 overs. Saleem George made 30. Jason Haynes, 3 for 9; Winston Holder and Bernard Bushay both took two wickets apiece.

Punishers’ innings ended at 62 in 17.5 overs. Malcolm Alexander, Renford Jack, Dominic Stowe and Rohan Howard all grabbed two wickets each to lead their team to another triumph.

In another fixture, Simple Boys scraped home by one wicket against Dr. Thomas Injectors. In 19.3 overs, Injectors made 77. Veron Bute, 3 for 21, and Elroy Morris, 3 for 5, were the lead bowlers for Simple Boys.

Vernado Primus topscored with 19, as Simple Boys limped to 81 for 9. Anthony Carrington, 2 for 8, and Chet Thompson, 2 for 13, were the top performers with the ball for Injectors. And in the other match played at the Dauphine Playing Field, Survivors reached 121 for 6 in their allotted 25 overs. Mackel Frederick, 49, and Dean Farrell, 20, were their main contributors with the bat.

Kevin Clarke took 3 for 12 for Ethiopia, who at their turn could only make 68. Kelly Lorraine, 3 for 12, and Desmond Maloney, 3 for14, bowled Survivors to victory.(RT)
