Williams the rebound King

Craig Williams pulled down 30 rebounds to be the highlight of the Bequia Basketball championships last weekend. His rebounds along with his 16 points helped Rising Stars Two to a 63-52 defeat of Liberty in a Second Division fixture.{{more}} Khandi Joseph hit 20 points for the losers. In other action in that division Diamondz whipped Eagles 44-20, with Daria Gordon sinking 14 points for the victors. Also Gladiatorz beat Warriaz 70 points to 36. The leading goal scorer was Cosmus Hackshaw with 24 points along with 10 rebounds. Gladiatorz also had a 62-50 triumph over Liberty earlier in the week. Vibert Davis was the high man with 23 points.

Young Blazers won Rising Rising Stars 61-51. Kevin Mc Dowald 12 points led the scoring for Blazers while Damien Bess sank 16 points and had 17 rebounds to his name.

Sunday’s Under-16 fixture Hornets defeated Eagles 38-34. Diego Phillips had 12 points for Hornets and Chaz Compton 13 points and 12 rebounds for Eagles.

In First Division action Duke defeated East Blazers 81 to 55

The leading scorer for Duke was Bradford Duncan with 22 points.

The leading scorer for East Blazers was Cornelius Farrell. His 12 points were not enough to turn the fortunes of East Blazers.
