More goodies for SVG Squash Association

The SVG Squash Association received donations from the SVG National Olympic Committee (NOC) at a handing over ceremony on Tuesday.

Coach James Bentick said the donation amounted to $4,000 and was used to buy equipment as well to sponsor programmes such as the Junior Summer Program, which has been running for approximately 8 years.{{more}} He said the programme helps children who cannot afford equipment, but who are interested in honing their squash skills. Three youth involved in this programme made it to the Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) finals in 2006, a pattern that Bentick said he would like to see repeated.

Keith Joseph represented the NOC, and President Steven Joachim, Committee Member Janice Glasgow, and coach James Bentick represented the Squash Association at the ceremony. (KP)
