Shane Slater captures two more awards

The 2003 and 2005 Junior Sportsman of the Year Shane Slater recently added 2 more accolades to his list of achievements when he was awarded as Most Athletic Member and Most Improved Player by the Franklin and Marshall College black student union and the varsity men’s squash team respectively.{{more}}

Slater, a 2nd-year student, received the Most Athletic Member Award on April 14th at the Black Student Union’s inaugural Black Carpet Formal and Awards dinner, after voting by the club’s executive board.

Following this, he received a further athletic award on April 25th, when his teammates voted him as the Most Improved Player for the 2006-2007 season. After posting a team-leading 14-9 record as the team’s #8 player in 2005-2006, he was awarded the Most Valuable Player award.

For the 2006-2007 campaign, he jumped 3 spots to the tough #5 position and once again led the team with a 15-9 record.

The team also awarded senior Satyajit Seshadri (who also recorded 15 wins) as the Most Valuable Player and junior Jehangir Aibara with the Best Sportsmanship award.
