Four Vincentians to be honoured

Four outstanding Vincentians will be honoured here by the ICC CWC 2007, during the warm up matches from March 5th to the 9th.

The Local Organising Committee for the ICC CWC 2007 has said this is part of a strategy to recognize Outstanding Caribbean Citizens during the event.

Those selected from St.Vincent and the Grenadines are Mr. Frank Mason, Dr.Gideon Cordice, Dr.Cecil Cyrus, and Mrs. Gloria Ballantyne.{{more}}

All have distinguished themselves in their professional and sporting lives.

Each of the honouree and their spouse will be hosted in the President’s suite at one of the warm up games here in March.

They will take the toss at the start of play, to decide which of the teams will bat or field. At the end of the game, they will make the Man of the Match presentation.

CEO of the Local Organising Committee, Michael Findlay, has expressed his delight with the selection of the four Vincentians.

Findlay says “as a Vincentian I am happy with the decision of the CWC to honour these four distinguished persons, who have made outstanding contributions to the State, in their professional and sporting careers”.

A total of 55 Caribbean nationals will be honoured by the ICC CWC 2007, under the Outstanding Caribbean Citizens programme.
