Table tennis rolls on

The table tennis caravan rolled in the North Leeward village of Rose Bank last Saturday off loading the various techniques of the sport to the participants, while taking on board the emerging young talent.

Aspiring players from age seven upwards were involved in last Saturday’s exercise which reports say was well received.{{more}}

Saturday’s caravan is part of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association thrust to get the sport into the rural communities.

The latest stop followed on a similar work out recently conducted in the Central Leeward town of Barrouallie.

The path was already paved for the caravan programme, as the areas were the recipients of table tennis boards last year.

The caravan stops in Georgetown in the North Central Windward constituency this Saturday.

Through a related plan some years ago former national and OECS singles champion Cheron Bailey was spotted.

The caravan programme is part of the National Olympic Committee’s grassroots talent identification.
