Speaking at a press conference last Tuesday at Olympic House, manager of the Villa Lodge Hotel, Ton Hoogstraten, said that this event would help greatly in the promotion of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the international level. He also said that he is very excited to be a part of something that caters to the health and enjoyment of people, and the reality of having cyclists participate from across the region is overwhelming.

Creech Wood, president of the Cool Riderz Motor Club, stated that in order to have more participants at these cycling events, safer roads need to be built.

The first race will start from Colonarie to Mt. Grenan and return seven times, beginning at 1 p.m. A Criterium race on June 5 will be held in Kingstown, beginning in front of Y De Lima,

to Bedford Street, then Grenville Street, turning onto South River

Road and back to Y De Lima between 4:00 p.m. and 6 p.m.
