Green makes good showing despite Windies loss

Hollis Green of Sans Souci represented the West Indies in the Rugby World Cup Sevens Tournament in Los Angeles last weekend. He played in the matches against Australia, New Zealand and Tonga. Although the West Indies were defeated by 33 -0, 50-5 and 41-0 in these opening games, they were much improved over last year and put in a very spirited performance , especially in the match against Australia.{{more}}

Hollis was singled out for praise for his excellent defence against both Australia and New Zealand where he closed down and tackled their wingers very effectively. He also made a 50 yard break against Tonga, which nearly led to a score for the West Indies.

The eventual winners of the tournament were England who defeated Fiji 38-5 in the final.
