Ajuba Two, Rangers record wins in Leeward cricket tourney

Ajuba Two, buoyed by Coboy Caesar 79, Kenny Stapleton 54 and Sherlon Chambers 35, secured a hard fought two-wicket win over Enforcers in last Sunday’s Vinlec North Leeward Cricket tournament.

Ajuba Two reached 280 for 8 in 45 overs, to overhaul Enforcers’ 279 all out off 40 overs. {{more}}

But the match was indeed closer, for Ajuba Two fielded ten men.

William ‘Buddy Willie’ Edwards 4 for 59 was the chief wicket taker for Enforcers, following up on his innings of 69, supported by Orville Franklyn 58.

Casnel Morris 4 for 40 and Roniel Jeffrey 3 for 43 were the main wicket takers for Ajuba Two.

That victory almost guarantees Ajuba Two a place in the quarterfinal. They have one more game against Young Strugglers who are yet to register a win.

Rangers upset Troumaca United with a four-wicket win at Troumaca Bay. McIan Duncan 33 and Cavin Charles 22 steered Rangers to 116 for 6 off 16 overs. That was in reply to Troumaca United’s 114 off 15 overs.

Elron Lewis 4 for 14 and Allan Browne 4 for 53 combined to rout the Troumaca innings with Brenton Providence 21 and Emil Anthony 20 among the runs.

The competition continues Sunday May 29 with Somerset playing Cool Veterans at Petit Bordel and Ajuba One against Troumaca Young Strugglers at Troumaca Bay.
