Bowens pilots North Leeward to victory

Alex Bowens is one of the top performers in this year’s National Cricket Competition. Playing in the Ju-c First Division, Bowens has reeled off two consecutive centuries.
Representing North Leeward /St. David,Bowens last weekend hit an unbeaten 109 against Kayous. This followed his unbeaten 147 not out versus Brownestown the previous weekend.{{more}}
His efforts last weekend helped his team trounce Kayous by an innings and 34 runs. Kayous totalled 171, led by Joseph Medford’s 40. Bowens bagged 3 for 21 and Javon Samuel 3 for 79.
Responding, North Leeward/St. David amassed 283 for 9 declared. Bowens, a former national Under-19 player, led the way with his century.
Batting a second time, Kayous fared worse as they were skittled out for 78. Angus Cyrus 5 for 27 was the wrecker of the innings while Samuel chipped in with 4 for 33.
