Tribute to my mother-in-law

I have no strange mother-in-law jokes

The ones some love to share

Just the many pleasant thoughts,

Of one I hold so dear

Was I a son-in-law or son

The latter I would say

How did the Headmistress that I so once feared

Become a source of such love and care{{more}}

A champion seeker of truth and fairness

She commanded the respect of all

Her leadership underscored her greatness

In a male-dominated world

Unshockable – most times she was

Which often perplexed me

But what was clear for all to see

Was her objectivity

Insightful, precise, intellectual

No-nonsense what say we

Were underpinned with compassion

Generosity and sound integrity

A woman of few words oh yeah

Complicated it is said…. but

Was never one to hesitate

To call a spade a spade

Her commitment to SVG

And to the Region too

Has certainly infected me

And I hope it did you too

She birthed three and mothered many

Who will join with me and say

Norma Keizer is indeed

A woman extraordinaire
