Cassius finds himself at Ezee

Cassius Cruickshank has a passion for music, which is easily identified in the execution of his work. “I love music. I mean, I love music!” the Kingstown resident professed to Searchlight during a visit to the EZEE radio headquarters.{{more}}

Cruickshank is the Ezee radio personality heard during the early morning; from as early as six he brings inspirational and divine music in “Morning Thrills”, which include the programmes Easy Guidance at 6:15 a.m. and Gospel Hour at 7 a.m.

“It’s about waking you up, getting you up, getting you ready for your day and inspiring you to start your day,” Cruickshank explained.

The March-born announcer started working at Ezee radio in May 2008. Prior to that he dabbled in a variety of occupations from construction, office management, bartending to working on the set of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

“I think this is who I’ve always been. I just needed to find myself, and what it is I needed to do.”

Having found his niche in the world, Cruickshank is enjoying his time at Ezee radio. “It’s been great!” he said. He also worked at WE FM and First FM, and is also the I.T. Technician for SVGBC.

During his airtime, listeners get a glimpse into Cruickshank’s personality through his music selection, “because of my love for music, it reflects what you hear everyday on the radio.”

Cruickshank also connects on a personal level with his listening audience, using warm greetings and one-on-one like conversation. “I try to make it as personal as possible, so that if you’re home by yourself you’re gonna think I’m talking to you.”

He has received positive feedback from loyal listeners who related that they truly feel inspired when they

listen to Morning Thrills. Cruickshank related that one listener called in and told him that listening to the programmes gave them the inspiration to get up and go, although they felt like they couldn’t make it before.

Although telling us his favourite genre of music was a bit difficult, Cruickshank singled out alternative rock band Linkin Park because he feels as if their music speaks directly to him.

Cruickshank extended gratitude to all the listeners of Ezee radio for their support and urged them to continue to listen to the station. He also credits his wife and children whom he described as his true inspiration. (OS)
