On Friday, October 26, the weekend kicks off with the annual Miss Biker Babes show at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex. The show will see five contestants vie for the title and become the new ambassador of the SVG Motorcycle Association. Other Bike Association Ambassadors from some of the other islands who will be participating in this weekend’s activities will also be making special appearances at the show.

Independence Day brings with it the annual National ride, as bikers from St. Vincent, Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, and even as far as Jamaica, take to the streets on dirt bikes, street bikes and even quads. The bike display will take place at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, directly following the Independence Ride.

On Sunday, all roads lead to Diamond, where the newly constructed dirt bike track will be ablaze with activity. From the young to the young at heart, numerous bikers are expected to test their skill at the Motocross event.

The Association’s President Leslie Kennedy expressed his anticipation of the upcoming weekend, “It’s been a lot of work getting everything together, getting the bikers from the other islands here, organizing the various events, and getting our track completed. The development of the track has been a long-standing dream of many members of the Association, and we are all so pleased to have it come true. This dream could not have been attained without the help of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Streamline Enterprises, C.O. Williams Construction Company and National Lotteries Authority.

“ It is our hope to continue developing our new track so that our local riders will have a place to call their very own, where they can come and learn and perfect their skills on an off road setting such as this, and provide comfortable accommodation for those who come to support our events.” Kennedy also went on to thank the members of the Executive who worked tirelessly with him to make this event become a reality.
