Five teams go forward in TBPO Softball Cricket Competition

Challengers, Sion Hill Tallawahs, Gomea Bombers, CGM Gallagher Novice and defending champions Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz have advanced to the quarter-finals of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organization 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition, with wins last weekend at the Dauphine Playing Field.

 On Saturday, Challengers won from New Level by five wickets.

 New Level made 123 all out in 19.4 overs. Rawdon Bentick struck 65. Bowling for Challengers Otis Hector claimed 5 for 12.

 Challengers replied with 127 for 5 in 17.2 overs. Javil Harry made 36, Keno Matthews, 30 and Trevin Baptiste, 21 not out. Bowling for New Level, Justin Lee took 2 for 7.

 Also on Saturday, Sion Hill Tallawahs beat Computec Older Boys by 82 runs. 

Sion Hill Tallawahs scored 155 all out in 11.3 overs. Erwin Williams made 52, Teroy Roberts, 33 and Marlon Baptiste, 22.

 Rohan King took 3 for 30, Keith Constance 2 for 32 and Michael John, 2 for 34.

 Older Boys were dismissed for 73 in 12.2 overs. Cassius Welcome scored 23 not out, while Omari Sutherland took 2 for 4 and Kennson Dalzell, 2 for 10, bowling for Sion Hill Tallawahs.

 Meanwhile, Gomea Bombers eeked out a five-run win over Dr Thomas Injectors in Sunday’s first match.

 Raffique Sayers stroked 40 and Kesson Williams, 38, as Gomea Bombers scored 140 all out in their 20 overs.

 The bulk of the wickets was shared by Desroy Lavia, who took 4 for 25 and Quesnell Cottoy, 2 for 13.

Dr Thomas Injectors made 135 all out in 19.4 overs. Elroy Nanton scored 30 and Damian Allen, 29.

 Alawyn Quashie took 3 for 17 and Kendall Payne, 2 for 30.

 Then, Novice had a seven-wicket win over Country Meet Town Outa Trouble Family.

 Batting first, Outa Trouble scored 157 for 7 from 20 overs. Kadier Nedd took 32, Wesrick Straugh, 31 and Asif Hooper, 29.

 Novice responded with 158 for 3 in 18.3 overs. Roderick John made 65, Newborne Joseph, 45 and Casmond Walters, 20.

 And, Simple Boyz beat Combine Rangers by 10 wickets.

Combine Rangers were decimated for 12 in 4.5 overs, with Travis Cumberbatch taking 4 for 5.

 Simple Boyz made 14 without loss from 1.2 overs.
