At Marine Park C, Imperial got the upper hand of Cavaliers in an all-Vincentian affair on Saturday.

Batting first, Cavaliers were dismissed for 189 all out. Rommel Currency top scored with 70, Sarathy Jagadeesan 44 and Ezekiel Williams 25.

Bowling for Imperial, Clarence Wyllie grabbed 3 for 22; Dexeith Palmer had 3 for 41, Hyron Shallow 2 for 26 and Shaddy Khan 2 for 44.

Shallow 44 then piloted Imperial to a five-wicket win, as they responded with 190 for 5. Jason Nelson 38, Foster Lewis 35 not out and Dexeith Palmer 26 added their input in the successful run chase.

Cavaliers, however, returned on Sunday at Seaview to take revenge on New York Youths.

Rommel Currency, 3 for 6, and Ezekiel Williams, 2 for 2, led Cavaliers’ bowling, as New York Youths were dismissed for 95 in 25 overs.

Cavaliers made light work of the target, reaching 96 for 3 in 11 overs. Casper Davis 36 and Ezekiel Williams 30 not out were the principal scorers.

And, Middlesex added to the mixed bag on Sunday, as they won one match, but lost the other.

Facing Travel Treat at Marine Park D, Middlesex scored 180 for 8. Mark Audain 48, Rod Michael 39, Owen Earle 28 and Dominic Audain 25, were the main contributors to the final total.

Travel Treat were whisked out for 56. Dominic Audain bagged 6 for 35 and Devan Passley 4 for 19, as they ripped the innings apart, as Middlesex won by 125 runs.

But, Middlesex were then brought back down to earth by Diplomats at Marine Park A.

Taking first strike, Middlesex made 130 all out. Dominic Audain hit 32.

Bowling for Diplomat, Kevin Charles had 3 for 32 and Trinson Carmichael 2 for 14.

Led by Carmichael’s 84 not out, which included six fours and five sixes, Diplomats reached 132 for 2 in 28 overs, to triumph by eight wickets.

It was also Middlesex’s first loss for the 2013 season.

There are no matches tomorrow Saturday, but play continues on Sunday when at Marine Park A, Cavaliers take on St Catherine and at Marine Park C, Imperial play Travel Treat.
