Greiggs Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition motors on

The Sea Operations SVG Greiggs Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition continued last weekend at the Greggs Playing Field and finishing in the winner’s column were Glen United, Clinchers and Sea Operations Nah Fren Dem Two.{{more}}

All matches were contested on Sunday, as Saturday’s two fixtured matches were rained out.

Glen United inflicted a 55-run win over Rankers in the match reduced to 18 overs due to rain.

Glen United in their allotment of overs reached 121 for 2.

Maxi Hackshaw hit 44 and his brother Marcus Hackshaw scored 40.

Rankers in response were dismissed for 66 in 14.2 overs. Cartel Dickson top scored with 30. Darren Henry, Marcus Hackshaw, Marlon Farrell and Ricky King all claimed 2 wickets each.

Clinchers’ victory came as the beat Outlaws by 45 runs in a match also reduced to 18 overs.

Clinchers posted 173 in 14.5 overs. O’Keiph Andrews knocked 51; Martin Scrubb hit 25 and Javid Gurley 24.

Rajon Richards with 2 for 31, was Outlaws most successful bowler.

At their turn, Outlaws were dismissed for 128 in 18 overs.

Michael Toney 37 and Orian Pitt 28 were the main contributors with the bat.

O’Keiph Andrews captured 3 for 8 and Martin Scrubb took 3 for 37.

And, Sea Operations Nah Fren Dem Two beat Fully Loaded Ballers by 64 runs.

The host Nah Fren Dem Two took first strike and compiled 182 for 5 in their 20 overs.

Leading the way was Kenton Matthews who struck 63 and Damron Prince 21.

Fully Loaded Ballers’ innings stopped at 118 in 15.1overs.

Javid Harry 25 and Kenron John 20 were the principal scorers, as Sachin James grabbed 3 for 6 and Damron Prince had 3 for 32.

Five matches are scheduled to be played this weekend, with defending champions, RSVG Police slated for a double header.

The 2011 winners first play South Rivers from South Rivers from 12:30 p.m. and from at 3 p.m. take on CGM Gallagher Novice.

Sunday’s matches see Sugar Boys and Dr. Thomas Injectors battling from 9:30 a.m., then from 12:30 p.m. Glen United plays Pent House.

The final match of the weekend pits Young Strikers against Simple Boys from 3p.m.(RT)
