Ragga Soca finals on Sunday
Fifteen of the countyâs top soca artistes will be vying for the honour of being crowned the first Carnival Ragga Soca champion.{{more}}
The competition which was previously held during Independence celebrations takes place this Sunday at the Victoria Park.
Independence champion Skarpyon is among the 15 âgroovy musicâ singers which features nine other male artistes and five females.
He will perform his 2008 song âForeverâ in the finals.
The other finalists include Zoelah, who will be doing âWine Up On Meâ, Full Clip, performing âGimme Galâ, Bomani, with âTil Morning Comeâ, Tabia: âAh feeling itâ,
Bam: âBurning Upâ, Karen Viera: âThe One For Meâ, Dennis Bowman: âDem Bodiesâ, Dani-O: âGimme Moâ, Squitty: âBe Freeâ, Shaunelle: âDonât Let Me Goâ, Galanaire: â
Do Youâ, Shady: âOne Chanceâ, KC featuring Icon: âWith Me Tonightâ and Blakie featuring Skinny Fabulous: âNo More Long Talkâ.
Sundayâs winner will take home EC$8,000, with the second place winner receiving $5,000 and $3,000 for third.
The finalists were selected from a field of 44 entries at a preliminary listening at the Peace Memorial Hall last Friday, June 6th. (JJ)
