Rose appointed Ambassador to Cuba

Dexter Rose, Editor of Searchlight has been appointed to the post of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Ambassador to Cuba. The announcement was made last week by Deputy Prime Minister Louis Straker.

Rose, who has been Editor of this country’s leading newspaper since September 2003, has a wealth of experience in journalism and corporate communications, having previously worked with the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Banana Growers’ Association, Geest Industries and Cable & Wireless. {{more}}

The new Ambassador joins this country’s overseas

diplomatic corps at a crucial time for relations between

St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Cuba. His will be the responsibility to coordinate arrangements for Cuba’s assistance to this country for the construction of the international airport at Argyle.

Rose is a graduate of the University of Havana’s School of Journalism and is married to Cuban born Lotier. They are the parents of two children, Rajiv 14 and Sharifa 10.

He will leave his post at Searchlight at month-end.
