NIS Director Stewart Haynes to Head up ECSE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of the National Insurance Services (NIS) Stewart Haynes, will take over the reigns of leadership of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE) come June, 2026.
This follows the retirement of the ECSE Managing Director, Trevor E Blake, who demitted office on December 31, 2025, following 20 years “of exceptional leadership and dedicated service”, the ECSE said in a release.
Under Blake’s leadership, the ECSE experienced significant change and growth, strengthened its governance and deepened its regional impact. The Board, management and staff has expressed profound gratitude to Blake for his commitment, steady leadership, and lasting impact on the development of money and capital markets in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.
The Board of ECSE said it is pleased to announce the appointment of Stewart K. Haynes, a national of St. Vincent & the Grenadines to the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1,2026.
“Mr. Haynes brings more than twenty years of experience in financial management, investment, actuarial science, and institutional leadership across the Eastern Caribbean,” the
ECSE release notes It references his service as Executive Director of the NIS “where he has led comprehensive reforms to strengthen long-term financial sustainability, modernize investment governance, embed enterprise-wide risk management frameworks and advance digital and operational transformation”. Additionally, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries (FIA).
“Mr. Haynes is widely respected for his analytical rigour, integrity, and collaborative leadership style,” the ECSE states “The Board looks forward to welcoming Haynes and is confident that his leadership will build on the strong foundation established by Mr. Blake as the ECSE enters its next phase of innovation and expansion.”
