Central Kingstown Organisation offering free remedial classes to students
STUDENTS in forms 1, 2, and 3, and primary school students in grades 2, 3 and 4, are being invited to free remedial classes in reading, English language and mathematics.
The initiative, expected to begin from Thursday, March 26 at 3:30 p.m., is an initiative of the Central Kingstown Development Organisation (CKDO) to help students who are struggling in these areas.
Classes will be carried out at the cultural hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kingstown Park, and President of the CKDO Leroy Rock, on Monday, March 23, 2026 stressed that the initiative is aimed at improving the academic performance of students in Central Kingstown, particularly in mathematics, where results at both the primary and secondary levels have been poor.
Rock noted that the programme will provide additional support to help students strengthen their foundation in these key subject areas and achieve better outcomes in school.
The CKDO is encouraging parents and guardians to take advantage of this opportunity by sending their children to the classes.
Rock said a special call to children in the Paul’s Avenue and the Kingstown Park areas as the CKDO is concerned with level of reading in the schools that students attend.
