Mural sculpture soon to be unveiled
THE DEPARTMENT OF Culture said it will soon unveil a mural sculpture at the Peace Memorial Hall. Visual Arts officer within the Department, Shannique Stewart said the piece signifies the diverse talent of the Vincentian people and will help to promote the creative arts.
Stewart is confident that the work will inspire business, institutions, communities, and individuals ,and end redundancy, sparking a period of transition.
The mural sculpture incorporates elements of Vincentian culture and history, representing resilience and strength. Students and other young people interested in the Creative Arts had a chance to participate in the creation of the Mural.
Jania Francis, a SET intern attached to the Department of Culture, participated in the project, and said she did so because of her love for the creative arts.
Rahje Ash, fourth form student of the St. Martin’s Secondary School also expressed gratitude to the Department of Culture for the opportunity to learn to mix colours properly and participate in the creation of the sculpture.
Vonne Richards, Educator and Mason lent his expertise, helping to carve out some of the structures and shared his insights as a Visual Arts teacher. (API)
