Rotary Club hosts Interact Leadership Retreat
THE ROTARY CLUB of St. Vincent said it hosted a successful Interact Leadership Retreat on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the UWI Global Campus in Kingstown, under the theme “Lead. Learn. Serve”. The retreat was held with support from the Rotaract Club of Kingstown and brought together over 100 Interactors from across the country.
Interactors from four clubs participated in the retreat: these being- the Interact Club of St. Martin’s Secondary School; St.Vincent Girls’ High School; St. Vincent Grammar School; and the soon to be chartered Interact Club of the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
The programme featured engaging sessions on Rotary and Interact essentials, leadership development, team building, project planning, and impactful storytelling, a release from the Rotary Club St Vincent states.
A key highlight was a Breast Cancer awareness project challenge, during which each club presented a proposed project to a panel of Rotarians and Rotaractors with expertise in healthcare, digital media, law, and finance.
Participants received developmental feedback to strengthen their project designs ahead of implementation in the lead-up to International Women’s Day in March. Interact is a youth leadership programme of Rotary International and falls ‘Youth Service’ which is one of Rotary’s five Avenues of Service.
In St.Vincent and the Grenadines, all Interact clubs are currently schoolbased and are sponsored by the Rotary Club of St.
Vincent. Over the past three years, the programme has grown steadily in local popularity, providing students aged 12 to 18 with opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve their communities, and build confidence while having fun.
The Rotary Club of St. Vincent said it continues to reaffirm its commitment to youth development by investing in initiatives that empower young people to become effective leaders and responsible global citizens.
