Anglican Church ordains another female priest
ANOTHER VINCENTIAN female has been ordained to the Holy Order of Priests within the Anglican Church, Diocese of the Windward Islands.
The Rt. Rev’d C. Leopold Friday, Bishop of the Diocese of the Windward Islands ordained the Rev’d Oneka Morgan to the Holy Order of Priests on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 being the first Ember Day in the season of Advent, a release from the Diocese states.
The ordination took place at the Cathedral Church of St. George, Kingstown.
Rev’d Pauline Ramsey Burns, Parish Priest, St Stephens with St Bartholomew and St Philip Anglican Churches located in the parish of St Philip on the island of Antigua, Diocese of the North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba delivered the sermon.
The Rev’d Oneka Morgan is Deacon Assistant in the Parish of the Holy Trinity, Castries, with St. Mary, la Caye, St. Lucia. The release from the Anglican Diocese states that the new priest is a former communicant member in good standing of the Cathedral Parish of St. George and St. Andrew, Kingstown who attended Mass regularly, was a member of the youth group, and also taught Sunday School.
She also preached at Advent Novenas and Lenten Mission services, morning and evening prayer.The Rev’d Oneka Morgan returned to St Lucia following her ordination.
