WP Diagnostic Cardiology and Neonatal Training Teams return to SVG
TWO SPECIALISED World Paediatric (WP) medical teams returned to St Vincent and the Grenadines during the week of November 16-22, 2025 where they engaged with more than 20 children.
The presence of the Diagnostic Cardiology team, and the Neonatal Training team, marks a a significant step forward in paediatric care, a WP release states.
The Cardiology clinic was led by Dr.William Moskowitz, a paediatric cardiologist and longstanding World Paediatrics medical partner dedicated to prioritizing and improving the heart health of children across SVG and the wider Caribbean. Joining him was local Paediatrician Dr. Shari-Ann Davis-Andrews who provided essential clinical support and expertise.
The team evaluated 25 Vincentian children with known or suspected heart abnormalities, providing diagnostic assessments. This helps guide treatment plans, surgical referrals, and long-term care strategies for some of the children.
Simultaneously, the World Paediatrics Neonatal Training Team returned to SVG to continue their ongoing commitment in building capacity through training and educating, as well as enhancing the knowledge and skill sets of the local nurses, paediatricians and physicians on neonatal care at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. The team included Dr. Clyde Cave, Dr. Josel Doyle, Dr. Robert Flemming, Susan Ameiss, and Mary Fairchild, all of whom bring extensive experience in neonatal and perinatal medicine. The programme covered essential NICU practices, and hands-on training.
Both teams were sponsored by the Mustique Charitable Foundation. World Paediatrics has extended its “appreciation for this invaluable support which plays an integral role in our goal to provide access to advanced medical care for our Caribbean children and families as well as growing the capacity of our local physicians”.
The next WP team to arrive will be the Orthopaedic Scoliosis team.
