Tropical Storm Melissa Threatens Jamaica
TROPICAL STORM Melissa the 13th named storm for the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane season, is forecast to headed to Jamaica by Monday. The hurricane is located in the central Caribbean Sea, and yesterday, October 23, was several hundred miles south of Haiti and Jamaica. Forecasters say Melissa is moving very slowly, meaning it may linger and lead to extended adverse weather rather than just a quick pass-by. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecasts that Melissa will be a hurricane on Saturday morning, and could be a dangerous Category 4 Hurricane by Monday, with tropical storm conditions beginning as early as this afternoon.
Jamaica remains under Hurricane Watch and Tropical Storm Warning.
