Imperial Champions Toastmasters Club Celebrates 17th Anniversary
“From Vision To Victory: 17 Years Of Championing Success!” is the theme of the Champions Toastmasters Club’s 17th anniversary celebrations.
The club was established on October 22, 2008 and part of its vision was to build a cadre of quality toastmasters. In a release, the club said over the years it has realised this vision, especially as some members attained the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award, which represents the highest level of educational achievement in Toastmasters, with less than 1% of all Toastmasters having ever achieved their DTM award. The club’s seven Distinguished Toastmasters are Jo Thomas-Elliott, Kenneth Onu, Monica Thomas-Woodley, Nigel Scott, Tamira Browne, Wendie Edwards-Wilson and Jacqui English-Jacobs.
The club is celebrating its 17th anniversary throughout October with a number of activities, including a beach picnic, games evening, and impromptu Olympics. The club also aims to resume in-person meetings, with its inaugural hybrid club meeting yesterday, October 16, 2025.
Imperial Champions Toastmasters, has also recognized one of its victorious trailblazing pioneers, Anika Stapleton who was the first Vincentian to win the Caribbean Toastmasters International Speech Contest, and was the first regional toastmaster to compete at the International level in USA. During the executive’s social, president, Jacqui English-Jacobs encouraged the officers to pursue goals for their love of the club. Other executive members are vice president, education Shaquille Lewis; vice president, membership Alicia Kirby; vice president, public relations Janeel King;
secretary Trackera Davis-Hamilton; treasurer Leanna Laidlow; and sergeant at arms, Elaine Forbes-Daisley.
The Imperial Champions Toastmasters Club, one of three such clubs in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, is extending an invitation to the public to join them in their anniversary celebrations.
