Minister of Agriculture visits Venezuela
A visit on October 3-4, 2025 by Minister of Agriculture to Saboto Caesar, to Venezuela earlier this month has “marked a new milestone in regional integration, with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, paving the way for the development of the ALBA Azul project,” the Embassy of Venezuela in St Vincent and the Grendines, said in a statement. The initiative is led by the ALBA-TCP countries.
St Vincent and the Grenadines, at the forefront of integration processes in the region, joins Venezuela in this beautiful initiative that envisions the Caribbean Sea as a geo-economic, geo-political, and geo-strategic power, strengthening the region as a zone of peace, the release also states.
The ALBA Azul project seeks to consolidate cooperation in the fisheries and maritime sectors, enhancing research capacity and the sustainable use of marine resources, while becoming a key instrument for the food sovereignty of the Caribbean,it explains.
“Today, as imperialist pretensions attempt to threaten the Venezuelan coasts, ALBA-TCP strengthens life and peace on the planet, reaffirming the commitment of our peoples to integration, justice, and the defense of sovereignty.”
In this context, the Venezuelan Minister of People’s Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, emphasized:
“Today we had the pleasure of presenting to our brother, Minister Saboto Caesar, two tuna fishing vessels that will form part of the cooperation projects between both nations. This is a concrete step to strengthen fishing production and food sovereignty in our region.”
For his part, Minister Caesar stated:
“We are not going to be afraid of those who want to prevent our movements. We are doing this on behalf of the people of our country. Because united, we can stop, but divided, we fall. This is our Caribbean, a region, a zone of peace. Alba Pesca is working. The revolution is alive. And we will ensure that no one will stop our revolution.”
With these actions and political expressions of will, the shared vision is consolidated that a united Caribbean can move forward toward a future of well-being, dignity, and peace, reaffirming ALBA Azul as a true beacon of freedom for the peoples of the Caribbean Sea, the release concludes.
