Anglican Diocese of the Windward Islands to host its Synod in Grenada
THE THIRTY-NINTH triennial Synod of The (Anglican) Diocese of the Windward Islands is scheduled to host its 39th triennial Synod in Grenada from Monday to Wednesday October 6-8, 2025.
In a release, the Diocese, whose headquarters is in St Vincent and the Grenadines said the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated to mark the opening of the synod on Monday.
The business sessions will be held at the Grenada Trade Centre Annexe, Morne Rouge, Grand Anse, St. George’s.
The synod is being held under the theme: “The Church At A Crossroads: Inspiring, Rebirth, Commitment and Community Through Creative and Authentic Ministry”.
The synod meets every three years to take counsel for the renewal and mission of the Church.
The Diocese of the Windward Islands is one of the eight dioceses of the Church in the Province of the West Indies and consist of three nation states, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada (which includes Carriacou and Petite Martinique) and St. Lucia. In the Diocese these are referred to as Archdeaconries. Clergy and Lay Representatives from the three Archdeaconries are expected to assemble in Grenada for the synod which will meet under the chairmanship of The Rt. Rev’d C. Leopold Friday,Bishop of the Windward Islands.
