Chauffeur charged with damage to property
On July 27, 2025, police arrested and charged Jordan Baptiste, a 20-year-old Chauffeur of Clifton, Union Island, with the offence of Damage to Property. Investigation revealed that on May 31, 2025, the accused without lawful excuse damaged one orange and white wooden Formula boat valued at EC$30,000.00 by beating same with a piece of board causing damage to the interior stern and bow, the property of a 38-year-old Carpenter of Ashton, Union Island.
The offence was committed in Ashton, Union Island. Baptiste was granted station bail in the sum of EC$1,500.00 with one surety. He is expected to appear before the Union Island Magistrate’s Court on July 31, 2025 to answer the charge.
