Police officers seen on video assautling man placed on administrative leave

The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has disclosed that the two police officers who were seen on video physically assaulting a man while in the process of apprehending him have been placed on administrative leave.

The video, which has been making the rounds on social media, was captured by a member of the public in the area of PeppaKorn Supermarket on Grenville Street.

The two officers can be seen pushing, tugging and repeatedly slapping the man until he eventually falls to the ground while passers-by verbally expressed their concern about how the man was being treated.

A release from the RSVGPF, dated July 2, 2025, condemned the “inappropriate actions of the two police officers”, also noting that the Force remains steadfast in its committment to “upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity”.

“Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Envill Williams, has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the matter.The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this inquiry.”
