Security Firm donates 200 masks to Police Force

The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (SVGPF) on Monday received a donation of 200 facemasks from the Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL) (St. Vincent) Limited.

The donation was made by local ASSL representative, retired acting Commissioner of Police, Reynold Hadaway, who noted that the company, which has its headquarters in Trinidad and Tobago, has been in existence for over 30 years.

According to him, over that period, the ASSL has made numerous donations to Police Forces in the region including the RSVGPF.

Hadaway explained that at this juncture, where countries all over the world including SVG are affected by the Covid-19 global pandemic, the ASSL in a regional effort, has seen the need to assist the front line workers within the Police Forces to help to protect them against possible infection with the Coronavirus as they carry out their daily task of ensuring national security.

Hadaway said that although the donation is a small one, it is vital in the fight against the Coronavirus.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the RSVGPF, Commissioner of Police, Colin John thanked Hadaway and the ASSL for its kind and significant donation. He recalled that the RSVGPF over the years have been the recipient of various donations from the company in different disciplines including – training and equipment.

The Commissioner asserted that members of the RSVGPF are on the frontlines assisting in combating the Coronavirus and the personal protective equipment (PPE) donated by the ASSL will aid largely in safeguarding police officers as they carry out their duties.

In closing, Commissioner John, who is also the current president of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) used the opportunity to also thank ASSL on behalf of the ACCP for its generous donations made to the police forces around the Caribbean.
