Let our choice be done peacefully
EDITOR: The countdown to general elections [has] begun and soon it will be time to cast our X to the candidate of our choice. As emotions run high, let us exercise self control. Let us respect each other’s views and choice and not become violent.
Whatever the outcome on November 27th, I urge us to accept the results, for the Lord, ‘ sets up kings and brings them down’. The final say is with the Lord.We may prance and get on and and say and do whatever we want, it is the Lord sets up and brings down.
We have a choice of course and so the Lord may grant us the government according our choice. But, regardless it is the Lord who has the final say. There are times in the bible that the Lord put in authority kings, based on the type of people living at that time. In Habakkuk, the prophet cried unto the Lord concerning the crimes, violence and lawlessness and the Lord’s response was to give them a very wicked king. One who was a tyrant and a dictator.
Also, he gives us a government as He sees fit in order to fulfil his purpose. So with all this in mind, it is not for us to create enemies because of politics. It does us no good to have families and church divided because of politics. For in the end we all have to live together as one. So, as we draw near to that big day, let us choose wisely.
Let us respect each other’s view and let us have peaceful elections. May God bless this nation and grant us His will and may we as a people live in peace and harmony regardless to which party we support.
