Standing with Jamaica
Editor: In 2021, when La Soufrière Volcano erupted and our homeland, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, was covered in ash, the Jamaican community here in Toronto stood shoulder-to-shoulder with us. They gave generously, prayed with us, and showed what true Caribbean unity looks like.
Today, Jamaica is facing a difficult time following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. Homes have been destroyed, families displaced, and communities are struggling to rebuild.
Now it’s our turn to return that love and solidarity.
As Vincentians, we know what it means to face hardship- and we also know the power of community compassion.
Let’s come together once again to support our Jamaican brothers and sisters. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.
Please join the relief effort by donating, volunteering, or simply helping to spread the word. Together, we can remind our Caribbean family that we remember, we care, and we stand with them.
