Problems of Mental Health
EDITOR: I am not an expert at Mental Health. However, we should not deny the reality that Mental Health is fast becoming a serious problem in this nation of ours and, by extension, the world at large.
It has manifested itself in many ways and in many individuals. Homeless persons or vagrants are amongst some of the mentally challenged persons. Far too many persons who live and roam the streets have mental health issues. This can cause fear amongst some persons. Thus, the urgency of dealing with it.
There are many causes of mental health. Amongst the many causes are: Drugs, where a person is addicted to, in many cases, cocaine causes mental health problems. Many persons who live on the streets and go around begging, many times are addicted to drugs. So the money they receive they would spend it on purchasing cocaine. This drug destroys the brain and can lead to mental illness.
Domestic and relationship problems can lead to mental health problems. Far too often individuals when facing these issues resort to depression which leads to mental health problems. It is believed that when these problems occur some persons resort to thinking about it in a way that occupies their mind and spirit.
As a result the person loses the ability to think straight and are not in control of him or her self, but is rather under the influence of the negative thoughts which then leads to a mental break down.
Many may not be aware of the dangers of watching some movies, listening to some songs, wearing of some tattoos and what these can do. These movies and some cartoons are satanic. So when we allow our children along with ourselves to look at these pictures, we can allow the devil into our homes since many of these movies have satanic content and are dedicated to the spirit world. The same can be said of some songs and tattoos. It is sometimes unfortunate that many persons do not realize that these tattoos are satanic and wearing them we are actually allowing the presence of spirt world into our lives and homes.
It is strongly recommend that we ensure that our children and ourselves be careful of the persons we associate with, the places we go and the persons we allow into our lives. Some people are involved in iniquity. These can have negative effects on society. Persons who carry guilt are in many cases facing mental health problems. Guilt has a way of weighing down the individual as he or she looks back over what they have done and so they keep on beating up on themselves. Doing this can lead to mental health Issues.
I encourage us to be aware of the things we allow in our lives and homes and so exercise self discipline, pray and feed on God’s word. Don’t allow the work of the enemy to keep us down. Let us be supportive of our loved ones and most of all, let the Lord Jesus be part of our lives.
