We can, I can
Each day we are bombarded with the reality that cancer is moving throughout every crevice of our society.
All creeds, colours and ages have come face to face with this medical condition in one form or the other. But as overwhelming as it may seem, we cannot give up the fight to eradicate cancer or on our quest to speak hope in the midst of this daunting reality. While some may have seen it as the end, there are those individuals who have recounted that it was the beginning of a new journey. A journey, though not chosen, but rather imposed, has taught them many life lessons and has pushed them to appreciate some of the simple things in life that we so often take for granted.
It is important that we too learn from the many lessons presented to us by a diagnosis of cancer and do all in our power to help those in need and to allow them the comfort of knowing they are not going through this pain alone. But rather we are resolute in standing with every person diagnosed, offering not only spiritual and emotional support, but financial as well.
So, we join with many around the world and say:
Yes, we can join the fight and be the voice for those who are battling cancer.
Yes, we can be the feet for those who have lost their balance and may just be in need of that emotion crutch to regain their footing.
Yes, we can be the eyes for those who have lost their sense of direction and are in need of a fresh outlook as they continue fighting on.
Yes, we can be the hands reaching out lifting up those who are too weak to stand.
Yes, we can be the hope for those who feel hopeless.
Yes, we can show support and love for those in the fight.
Marcia Smith reminds us in her inspirational writings that cancer is not a death sentence, but rather it is a life sentence; it pushes one to live.
