Time to re-open road across ET Joshua Airport
The almost chaotic traffic congestion which is experienced every work day by motorists travelling into Kingstown should have now prompted the authorities to see the wisdom in reopening that vital section of road.
The time and fuel saved should be significant for all the categories of road users and this will undoubtedly impact punctuality at school and at various other workplaces to the satisfaction of all.
The continuation of this seeming indifference must be causing the Ministry of Health tremendous financial strain, in view of the fact that the ambulances are called on to respond to emergencies several times per day. Hundreds of miles, hundreds of minutes, thousands of dollars and perhaps one of these days a few lives will be saved if the road is re-opened. Let us re-open the road!
Another important consideration may well be the integrity of the vital bridge near to the ACE 2 and HIGHWAY TRADING properties. When last has an assessment of it been done? Judging from the broken rails which have been in that state of neglect for some extended period, it would be reasonable to be skeptical of the quality of the maintenance of the other areas of the bridge.
We have to take into account the inconveniences being suffered as a result of the damage to those bridges in the seemingly “neglected NORTHâ in the parish of ST DAVID.
