Security personnel at AIA need better training

EDITOR: I am disgusted by the security officers at Argyle International Airport (AIA) and in my view, they need training. They have no tact and can’t use their initiative.

These officers will take from your checked luggage rubbing alcohol, perfumes and your medication or creams if alcohol is an ingredient. It sounds silly, but it is true. My friend’s Samsung phone and her Alcolado went missing in April and she got no satisfaction. I also wonder if it is a case of the blind leading the blind in relation to security.

I bet you more news will come out with the way they speak to passengers and harass them unnecessarily, like they “glad frighten”. They are treating people like criminals and they will check every single piece of luggage, whether or not they see anything suspicious.

Sadly, some of them have no experience and have never travelled, so they have no idea what it means to be a security officer within the hospitality industry. No one is saying you have to grin and smile, but to be rude, plus to have things going missing is just terrible for our tourism.

What is also funny is they have dozens of customer service reps with hardly any work to do and still the service and overall experience leaves a bad taste.
