Prostitution should not be encouraged
EDITOR: While prostitution is illegal in this country, it is fast becoming a popular trade in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). It is unfortunate that women would sell their bodies for sexual satisfaction.
Involvement in this trade, though rewarding for some, shows the low value some women place on themselves. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:18 that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
While some may argue that there is nothing to do to earn cash and that jobs are hard to find, that is just an excuse. This argument is somewhat weak, because some women who are involved in these things are gainfully employed. Also some mothers encourage their daughters to be involved with men for cash. This is also prostitution. And some mothers are themselves involved in this trade. When they tell you that they are not allowing a man to enjoy them without him giving them something… that is also prostitution.
This rise in trade speaks volume to the values we placed on morality and respect for Godâs word. No wonder there is so much HIV/AIDS, broken homes and lives.
Prostitution should not be encouraged, but rather a loving relationship between a man and a woman.
We need to get back to being faithful in the home and not allow ourselves to be so cheap. After all, you need to have standards and have values.
